Groups

Groups are a powerful way to reconnect with humanity, which I believe is a great way to get grounded and reorient yourself. It’s like a really engaging summer university class, but I promise not to sit on my desk to make me seem more relatable.

Together, we will dive into questions about who we are, why we’re here, and what we want to do with our time on Earth. I know that’s a big claim, but that’s what I see happen in every group and why I encourage people to take the leap and join a group.

Upcoming Groups

🌿The Group Interest Form is Open!🌿

I will be running three groups this fall. All groups are 90mins and will be scheduled based on participant’s availability. Indicate your interest and availability on the form at the bottom of this page.

  • Women’s Support Group focused on finding our and strengthening our core selves who have been worn down by familial, societal, political, and cultural pressures. It’s like late-night life changing chats with best friends you haven’t met yet.

  • Life Support Group focused on the vague but tough questions of “who am I”, “what am I doing with my life” and “why did that happen” to name a few. I’ve written about the basic structure here, but really the content moves with the group’s needs.

  • Solo & Secure is a 6-week group for singles, divorcees, and widows in the Foreign Service. Money impacts more than just your bank account — it shapes your choices, your sense of safety, and your vision for the future.

  • In this group, you’ll get both practical financial guidance and the space to talk openly about the fears, pressures, and stories that come with managing money on your own. A guest financial planner will join us for the first and last sessions, giving you expert tools to invest and plan with confidence.

  • You’ll leave with clear next steps, fresh perspectives, and the reassurance that you’re not alone in navigating this part of the journey.

Federal workers impacted by budget/agency cuts can attend dr. fae’s groups at reduced/free cost. Please indicate your need on the interest form

    • Sharing experiences in a supportive group can be deeply healing and validating. If you’ve ever had a class or training that changed how you see the world, this will feel like that.

    • Groups remind us we’re not alone — and to me, that’s the heart of therapy. I know the idea can be intimidating, but in all my years, feedback from group participants has been overwhelmingly positive.

    • It takes bravery to join a group, but they’re some of the most powerful, transformative spaces I’ve ever been part of. So, I keep creating them — and, luckily, people keep showing up.

    • Men's Group

    • Women's Group

    • LGBTQIA2+ Group

    • General Support Group

    • Making Meaning in a Global Life Group

    • If you have a type of group you would be interested in, feel free to reach out in the comment form below.

    • Once enough people express interest in a group through the form at the bottom of the page, fae will send out a link where all potential participants can express their availability. The time that works for the most people wins!

    • You can read about topics covered in the Making Meaning in a Global Life Group here.

    • The other groups will decide their own topics. dr. fae will assist in bringing in relevant themes, but the priority is having a safer space to share your struggles and to get feedback from others.

    • Groups are $150 per session. Participants are expected to attend all 6 sessions.

    • Group therapy has been covered by FSBP at 70% (after you've met your deductible). Be sure to double check your coverage just in case.

    • The group will meet online in a HIPAA compliant platform, making it easy & secure for you to participate from wherever you are.

    • All discussions within the group will remain confidential with dr. fae and notes will be thematic in nature without naming specific participants or their stories.

    • Participants will be asked to maintain the confidentiality of all other members. The strict confidentiality that comes with individual therapy cannot be legally guaranteed in the group space, but generally members are respectful of this request. Often material shared in group therapy is less sensitive than that shared in long term individual therapy.

    • The list of potential participants will be shared with the potential group before beginning. If there is anyone on the list that feels too close in your professional/personal circle you can opt out of the group - so there will be no surprises in the first session.

    • Rest assured, your medical and security clearances will not be impacted by your participation in this group. This is a supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of repercussions from State Department. You can read more about the lack of impact seeking mental health care has on clearances in this article.
